WELD NORTH HIRES SENIOR EXECUTIVE ADAM J. KLABER AS MANAGING DIRECTOR
Klaber to Work with Weld North in Advancing Technology Initiatives in the Education, Health and Wellness, Consumer Services and Marketing Businesses
New York, NY – October 30, 2013 – Weld North LLC announced today that Adam J. Klaber is joining the firm as Managing Director. With nearly thirty years of experience in the technology space, Klaber will bring a heightened focus on how technology is transforming the industries in which Weld North invests. Klaber has held a range of senior management positions throughout his career and joins Weld North from IBM, where he was most recently a Managing Partner for IBM Global Business Services, a $18 billion revenue business within IBM.

Klaber’s focus will be working with Weld North’s portfolio companies to enhance their use of Social, Mobile, Analytical and Cloud technologies to refine and evolve business and technology strategy, enhance operational performance and accelerate growth. Klaber will also be responsible for the assessment of future investment opportunities which can further advance the education and health and wellness sectors. In the current portfolio, Edgenuity is enhancing its online learning platform which today has driven outcomes for more than 1 million students in school districts across the country; Generation Ready’s consultants are leveraging Big Data in its proprietary ReadyPath technology platform as they work to personalize professional development for teachers to elevate student achievement; and Organic Avenue is advancing its customer experience with the adoption of new Mobile, Social and Supply Chain optimization technologies.

While at IBM, Klaber oversaw key growth initiatives for the company and led the consulting organization globally as well as Global Business Services in Latin America and Southwest Europe. Klaber joined IBM in 2002 through the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting. He held a number of senior positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, establishing and leading the industry’s first and top-rated practice dedicated to Customer Relationship Management. He was named partner at Price Waterhouse in 1994.
Mr. Klaber holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Hartford and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
