Weld North’s Edgenuity Acquires Compass Learning
Acquisition Strengthens Weld North’s Position as One of the Largest Providers of Digital Curriculum to K-12 Schools
NEW YORK – August 2, 2016 – Weld North Holdings LLC, an investment company focused on digital and SaaS education solutions led by Jonathan Grayer, announced today that Edgenuity, a Weld North company and a leader in online and blended learning solutions, has acquired digital education software provider Compass Learning. The acquisition strengthens Weld North’s position as a leading operator of education businesses that produce superior results for students, teachers and investors. Edgenuity will now provide the most powerful and comprehensive suite of K-12 products and services to help schools meet their academic goals and improve student outcomes. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Compass Learning, based in Austin, Texas, has a long, successful history in the educational technology market providing intervention and skills instruction for math and reading/language arts in grades K-8.
The acquisition will provide Edgenuity with a powerful and comprehensive K-12 product line, enabling the company to more effectively meet the growing demand for personalized, targeted learning at all grade levels. The combination reinforces both companies’ acclaimed rigor and commitment to delivering high-quality online content and courses aligned to state standards.
The expanded Edgenuity business joins Weld North’s strong platform of digital education businesses, including:
