Steve Berger serves as Vice Chairman and CFO of Weld North.

Steve began his professional career in 1983, spending 16 years at Lehman Brothers, lastly as Head of the Global Merchant Banking Division and as Co-Head of the Global Investment Banking Division.  As head of Merchant Banking, he led the team that raised a $2 billion buyout fund and entered the venture capital business. He was also a member of Lehman Brothers’ seven-person Executive Committee responsible for running the firm globally from 1995 to 1998. From 1999 to 2003, Steve co-founded and managed Rosetta Partners LLC, a New York-based merchant banking firm specializing in growth capital investments. From 2003 to 2005, Steve reconnected with several Lehman Brothers colleagues to help turn around the European investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort as a member of its Executive Management Committee and Executive Chairman of Investment Banking.  Immediately prior to joining Weld North, Steve was investing growth capital as a Founding Partner of London-based Richmond Park Partners LLP.

Steve is committed to several charitable organizations, and is particularly active with HealthRight International, where he is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors. A native of Chicago, Steve is an active member of various committees at Harvard University, including being a current member of the Dean’s Council at the Harvard Kennedy School. Steve graduated with a B.A. from Harvard College in 1979 and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1983.
